Portrait for Today...The Ones We Love

Who do you love?  Do you have a spouse, a child, a close and dear friend?  I have one that I love.  I've been married to my wonderful wife for a little over a year now.  She is my best friend in the world, and I would do anything for her.  We have many commonalities and some differences.  We talk about life, goals, dreams, desires, love, God, faith, and fun.  We don't agree on everything, but then we wouldn't be different people if we agreed on absolutely everything.  She's certainly not perfect, but I'm pretty far from perfect myself.  And yet we still love each other.  We choose to love one another.  We both believe that God brought us into one another's lives for a purpose and a reason.  I believe that I was the person the God wanted to bring to my wife to lift her up, and that my wife was the person he brought me to encourage me.  I try my best to make sure that I show her affection, support, and love.

More and photos after the jump.

I don't do this on my own though.  I am able to show her unconditional love, becaues unconditional love has been shown to me by God giving up his own Son for me.  The reason I am able to love me wife so much, even in my still finite, human way, is because God loves me.  This verse sums it up very simply.  1 John 4:19--"We love because He (God) first loved us."  What else is wonderful, is that even when I screw up, my wife still loves me.  Because I'm not perfect, and I don't always show love like I should. But my wife is gracious, kind, loving, forgiving, encouraging, exhorting, and godly.  She doesn't excuse my behavior if I mess up, but she does offer me forgiveness and continues to love me, and I do the same for her when she messes up.

Aside from her inner beauty, I also happen to think she is cute, pretty, funny, and just plain lovely.  Being a photographer, I photograph my wife pretty often.  I've gotten a lot of shots of her over the past couple of years we've known each other, and there will be many more in the future.  Here is just a small sampling of photos of the one I love.
